Hebrew and Western Newspapers: The occupation withdrew some forces from Gaza as a result of economic burdens

The American newspaper “The New York Times” predicted in a report that the withdrawal of part of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip is a result of the increasing economic burdens on the Israeli government due to the ongoing mobilization for months and the absence of any prospects for ending the war in the near future. It also referred to experts’ expectations of an economic contraction in the Israeli entity in 2024.
The American magazine “Time” also quoted a former security official in the occupation entity as saying, “The change in the situation of the occupation forces and their withdrawal from the Gaza Strip may be a result of American pressure, and this decision comes ahead of a visit by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the region.”
Regarding the Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth,” it described the Central Bank of Israel’s move to lower interest rates as “surprising and contrary to expectations,” given that it had refrained from doing so in prior years. It was argued that the war and businessmen’s growing fears about inflation in the context of Houthi tensions imposed in the Red Sea were the direct causes of the decision. This tension prompted the US to enter into an armed confrontation in the Red Sea.
The American newspaper “The Washington Post” commented that what is happening in the Red Sea due to the occupation will affect the global economy and exacerbate the crisis of maritime shipping worldwide. It quoted experts in the maritime transport field as saying that escorting every cargo ship with battleships is practically impossible.
The Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” highlighted the aftermath of the bombs dropped by the occupation on Gaza, leading to the extermination of entire Palestinian families since the beginning of the war in Gaza. It mentioned that about 1,800 families have lost many of their members due to the continuous bombardment, and then it observed the difficult conditions that force most family members in Gaza to live together in one house.
