Withdrawal of the fourth European frigate from the Red Sea
On Saturday, Germany confirmed the withdrawal of its only battleship from the Red Sea, becoming the fourth European country to leave since the fleet deployment began two months ago.

According to the German channel “DW” Arabic, Berlin has decided to withdraw the frigate “Hessen” from the Red Sea without disclosing the reasons.
The channel, citing German officials, mentioned that the mission of the battleship had ended, even though it had only been a few weeks since the decision to deploy it within the “Aspides” mission.
Earlier, Germany had reported repeated attacks on its battleships.
The withdrawal of the German battleship coincided with a statement from the European mission, in which it highlighted the intensity of the attacks against Western ships and battleships and its demand for reinforcements. This suggests that the decision to withdraw “Hessen” was forced and may be related to its damage during Yemeni attacks.
Germany is the fourth European country to withdraw suddenly from the European mission “Aspides,” which was deployed in February. France, Belgium, and Denmark had previously announced the withdrawal of their battleships or the cancellation of their participation in operations in the Red Sea.
