Israeli confirmations of the targeting of the “Chemicals” ship
Israel confirmed on Saturday that a new cargo ship was targeted in the Indian Ocean.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Hebrew Channel 12 confirmed that a cargo ship carrying a quantity of petrochemicals was attacked by a drone off the Indian coast.
The channel claimed that the drone was launched from Iranian territory.
Reports previously indicated that the ship, owned by the Danish company “Maersk,” was in route to Israeli ports in the Mediterranean when it came under aerial attack, resulting in fires and explosions.
The incident occurred near the Indian Fairvale.
This incident marks the second since Sana’a’s decision to close the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait to Israeli ships in solidarity with Gaza. It also indicates an escalation of attacks in this region, which has now become an alternative passage for Israeli cargo ships heading to the occupation ports.
The timing of the incident suggests that operations have shifted outside the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait following the successful imposition of Sana’a’s decision there. The attack will further burden the US, which is attempting to form an alliance to contain the escalation in the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.
