An air bridge and a ban on navigation in the Red Sea
US concerns over Yemen’s response to its recent attacks have escalated.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
US forces have imposed a navigation ban in the Red Sea. The Oil Tankers Association and shipping companies reported that it had received instructions from the Joint Forces Command of the US Fifth Fleet to change its routes in the coming days away from the Red Sea and the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.
Many companies have already announced the commencement of route changes away from the Red Sea.
The US forces’ ban on navigation in the Red Sea coincides with the establishment of an air bridge along the coastal areas of Yemen.
Spy planes and warplanes are conducting aerial sorties over the coastal city of Hudaydah in western Yemen, in addition to aerial patrols extending from the western coast of Yemen to the Israeli coasts in Eilat, according to local sources in Hudaydah.
These movements coincide with instructions to continuously move the aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” to avoid an anticipated attack. The US Defense spokesman revealed an escalation in concerns about a response from what they described as “Houthis,” as reported by Al Jazeera.
The US carried out attacks on Yemen for the second consecutive day, with the aggression ranging from missile strikes to Tomahawk missiles.
The attack follows the US targeting of Yemeni naval boats during routine patrols last week in the Red Sea, resulting in the martyrdom of ten sailors.
