Relief bodies and organizations condemn the situation in Gaza and describe it as catastrophic
UN-affiliated agencies and other humanitarian organizations expressed their condemnation on Sunday of the devastating toll resulting from six months of war in Gaza, warning that the situation is “more than catastrophic.”

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies stated that the past six months have been a “terrible threshold,” cautioning that “humanity has been abandoned.”
On Saturday, United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator Martin Griffiths stressed the need for “accountability for this betrayal of humanity.”
Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that there is no justification for “the relentless bombardment and blockade by Israel, the destruction of the healthcare system in Gaza, and the killing, wounding, and starving of hundreds of thousands of civilians, including relief workers.”
Tedros particularly expressed anger about the “martyrs and serious injuries of thousands of children in Gaza,” considering it a “stain on humanity as a whole.”
The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated that “the hell in Gaza is deepening day by day.”
He added, “The situation in Gaza is worsening due to the famine resulting from the blockade imposed by Israel, and one might think that it is from a different era. As a result, man-made famine is devouring the corpses of infants and young children.”
The Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Mary Russell, indicated that over 13,000 children were martyred in the war, according to reports.
She stated on the “X” platform on Saturday that “homes, schools, and hospitals have turned into rubble. Teachers, doctors, and humanitarian workers have been killed. Famine is imminent.”
She continued, “The level and speed of destruction are shocking. Children need an immediate cessation of fire.
The occupation launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, resulting in the martyrdom of 33,175, mostly women and children. Out of the 36 main hospitals in Gaza, only 10 of them are still partially operational, according to the World Health Organization.
