Including the strikes… Suspension of US forces’ missions in Yemen
On Monday, US forces suspended their missions in the Red Sea, in another step reflecting the extent of the blow Washington received as Yemen announced the targeting of the aircraft carrier “Eisenhower.”
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Greek sources reported that US forces informed the European mission of a “temporary” halt to the escorting of ships in the Red Sea, while British reports spoke of London receiving a US notification regarding the cessation of joint airstrikes on Yemen.
The sources indicated that America had planned to carry out further retaliatory strikes against what they described as the “Al-Houthis,” noting that these strikes had begun days ago with a wide-scale attack that resulted in around 60 martyrs and injuries before abruptly stopping.
The sources didn’t clarify the reasons behind this US move, but its coincidence with the towing of the US aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” towards the Mediterranean and its arrival at the coasts of Medina indicates that US forces are facing logistical problems in countering Yemeni operations amid concerns that they will cause significant damage to what remains of Washington’s showboat battleships.
Yemen had announced the targeting of “Eisenhower,” which is a fleet consisting of several warships, including the aircraft carrier, in response to the recent aggression and in support of Palestinian resistance.
Since Yemen’s declaration of the targeting of Eisenhower, the US-British airstrikes, which were launched almost daily and had recently escalated with Yemen’s declaration of entering the fourth phase of escalation, have ceased.
