WHO announces the killing of 226 health workers and patients in Lebanon
The organization reported that 226 health workers and patients were killed in Lebanon, and 199 injured, between 7 October 2023 and 18 November 2024.
Abdel Nasser Abu Bakr, the organization’s representative in Lebanon, stressed that “these figures are very worrying.” The World Health Organization said in a statement that these figures come from a system that monitors attacks on health care worldwide.
Since October 7, 2023, “47% of attacks on healthcare facilities have been proven.
