Britain seeks mediation with the Al-Houthis
On Wednesday, Britain engaged in mediation with Sana’a in an attempt to avoid the repercussions of the escalation in the Red Sea.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The British newspaper “The National” quoted sources saying that the British government has opened diplomatic channels with Sana’a to avoid any escalation in the Red Sea.
The sources explained that British diplomats are currently communicating through Arab countries with the “Al-Houthis,” indicating that Britain is seeking a new opportunity for negotiations regarding the escalation in the Red Sea.
Earlier, Sana’a revealed its rejection of British offers through the Sultanate of Oman, which included halting maritime operations against Israel.
The British diplomatic move comes amid escalating tensions in the Red Sea, with Sana’a revealing the targeting of an American battleship in the Red Sea and the British defense’s statement about their intervention to rescue it and intercept the Yemeni attack.
In light of the warning issued by Sana’a to Western countries against the dangers of participating in the Israel Protection Alliance, Britain fears that its intervention may escalate the frequency of attacks in the Red Sea, not to mention the targeting of its interests in the region.
